We talk about a whole lot on the cast today ranging from a wide variety of topics, but I am not going to disclose what we discussed as I want the audience out there to listen for themselves and tune in to our latest episode, so enjoy and keep on listening. Thanks so much. 

Mad Daddy

Happy Monday and Martin Luther King Jr. Day as we are back for another episode and we have a pretty busy one here today as we get set to break down the first round of the playoffs in football and it is kind of funny that we were in fact doing this cast right as the game was on between the Bills and the Steelers, but as you will hear towards the end of the episode, we were fully aware of what was happening and how close the Bills were to winning and moving on to the next round. Anyway, we break down everything that happened with all of the games over the weekend and give some insight perhaps with regards to what we could see in the next round despite a couple of games still in progress as we speak. As a Cowboy fan, Daddy is mad, so he has the floor there for that one as we discuss what is next for them now that the offseason is here and it is time to make some decisions about what direction the franchise is going to go in next and there is a really good chance that based on how they just finished out the season and came up short yet again in reaching their goals and aspirations, everything will be on the table for the Dallas Cowboys in terms of what they will ultimately decide to do, so it will be something to watch and keep tabs on this spring and all offseason for sure. Daddy I know cannot wait to see what his beloved Cowboys will do and I am sure that there are a number of others that feel the same way, including myself, as they get ready to enter a crucial offseason, so we shall see what happens, but it will be good either way since they really are not that far off from being a contender; what they have to do is really just move some of the pieces around and try to put them together is all, so hopefully they do that. Plus, some inevitable Knicks chatter to wrap up as well, so be sure to tune in to this one.  

Head coaching landscape in the NFL and Nick Saban calls it quits

Daddy and I just wanted to keep it kind of simple for this episode with not a whole lot happening at the moment right now, which I am sure will definitely change by the time we do the next episode, but anyhow, for this one, we felt that it was a really good time for us to sit down, evaluate, and discuss the head coaching landscape in the NFL with some of the coaches that are available and looking for new jobs and where they could get them possibly with a good number of teams that have vacancies in that area that they need to address and fill soon. As a result, we break down all of the job openings and which one could be the most appealing and the names that were fired and what their future holds in terms of whether or not they will coach again and land another gig elsewhere. Plus, the news of Nick Saban deciding to call it quits after a great career really shocked Daddy, so he reacts to that as well and gives his thoughts on the news. Enjoy. 

Peacock?????

With the regular season now in the books, we begin to break down the playoffs and give our predictions for the first round with wild card weekend. We simply go game by game and give our thoughts and it will be interesting to see afterwards if any of our predictions that we made for the games turn out to be correct, so we shall see, but perhaps we have our next episode planned out as we could talk about that, so stay tuned. Anyhow, we discuss a couple more running backs as we discussed Barkley already, but we mention Henry, Ekeler, etc. Some coaches were fired, we get into that a bit along with the fact that some of these games are on Peacock where we cannot watch and are not happy about. Daddy more so than I, but I do not like it either, so we rant on that. The Knicks are looking good and Daddy provides insight into the college football championship game and gives his prediction for who he sees bringing it home this year. Got all that?

Getting some things off of our chests

Once the season ends, the offseason begins and while there is quite a bit of season that is left still, the fact of the matter is that there is not that much time left in the season as it is quickly winding down and to be honest, the offseason will likely be here before we even know it, so therefore, with all of that being said, we actually are going to preview the offseason a bit with perhaps one of, if not the biggest, storyline that we will be monitoring and tracking all throughout the offseason is what in the world is Saquon Barkley going to do as he will be one of the most sought after and highly coveted free agents that will be available this spring. He is one of the top runners in the league and because of that, he will certainly get paid. We break down the best move for him in free agency with so many options that are most likely going to be on the table for him to consider when he officially hits the open market in the spring, but nevertheless, we discuss and explore that for a bit along with some other topics that are hopefully of interest to everyone out there such as the Knicks, the pro bowl games, activities, festivities, whatever they are called I do not know, and the results so far for the all star voting in the NBA as that has opened now. There is still plenty of time with that as everything has not become official obviously yet, but early thoughts. Busy episode here with a lot to say and to get off of our chests, so be sure to listen. 

Our very first episode of 2024

We kick off 2024 with a busy episode as we break down the playoff scenarios heading into the final week of the regular season- everyone do the best you can to keep up as it gets confusing as there is so much at stake entering the final Sunday. We have some Knicks chatter as they win not only their first game of the new year, but also in the new era so to speak after the blockbuster trade and they looked good. Daddy has a few things to get off of his chest when it comes to college football, so be sure to stay tuned for that and a very happy new year to all. Lets make it a great 2024. 

Daddy gets his wish

This was a bit unexpected when you really consider the timing of it and how it just seemed to happen out of nowhere and out of the blue like that since we really did not hear or read anything prior to it that it was a real possibility, but nevertheless, it went through and came to fruition rather quickly. The Knicks traded Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett to the Raptors for OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, and Malachi Flynn with also a draft pick included in the deal as well. Wow. We discuss and as a sidenote as you will hear, Daddy gets his wish and is a very happy camper for this episode. Also, Chris Sale gives the Braves another arm.

We could not be more upset and disappointed with what we are seeing from the Pistons and while we are not fans of the Pistons, we are fans of the NBA and follow not just our team, the Knicks, but all the teams around the association and that includes the bad teams like the Pistons. Therefore, we discuss them and the struggles that they are having along with some football, the Knicks as they played a really good game on Christmas Day that resulted in a big win, and how I was right about Yamamoto as he chose the Dodgers and spurned the Yankees just like I predicted. I tried to tell Daddy, but he would not listen as I knew it all along. But nevertheless, that is what happened and we break it all down as we return to action following the holidays. We are back. 

NFL, NBA, MLB talk- we do it all right before Christmas

As we get ready to head off for holiday break here, we just wanted to jump on and do a cast that combines the three main sports that we cover through our platform here at the Matt Daddy Sports Podcast where I just want to remind everyone that this is just our opinion and feelings about whatever catches our eye in the world of sports. With that being said, when I say the world of sports and then narrow it down to three sports, those are the sports we like the most and think we can speak about with the most passion and knowledge, hopefully, with those being football, baseball, and basketball. This does not mean we can't talk about any others necessarily, but those are the ones that we like to spend the most time on, but if anyone has ideas, just simply let us know as we are very much open to feedback and suggestions. Anyway, week 15, Knicks, and Yamamoto is on the schedule for today. Thanks so much and we are back after the holidays, but until then, enjoy the episode and talk to you soon. Ohtani again, Dad?

For this episode, Daddy has another point to make about Ohtani despite the fact that we had already discussed him pretty heavily in the episode prior to this one, but I will and hopefully others will hear him out on the subject of Ohtani regardless of how many times it comes up, so we get into that as well as the inevitable Knicks talk and a little bit on Draymond and how we see his situation playing out for right now, so enjoy.
